Hikofutsuoshinomakoto no Mikoto (彦太忍信命)
Hikofutsuoshinomakoto no mikoto (彦太忍信命: year of birth and death unknown) was a member of Imperial family (Royal family), who appears in the "Kojiki" (The Records of Ancient Matters) and the "Nihonshoki" (Chronicles of Japan). His name is also written as 比古布都押之信命(Hikofutsuoshinomakoto no mikoto) (according to the "Kojiki"). He was the prince of the eighth Emperor Kogen, and his mother was Ikagashikome no mikoto, the daughter of Utsushikoo no mikoto. He was the father (according to the "Kojiki") or the grandfather (according to the "Nihonshoki") of TAKENOUCHI no Sukune. He was the ancestor of the Katsuragi clan, as well as, the Soga clan, Ki clan, Kose clan, Heguri clan, and others.
According to the "Kojiki," he took the younger sister of Kiinokuni no Miyatsukuko Uzuhiko (Ujihiko), Princess Yamashitakagehime to wife, and had a son, TAKENOUCHI no Sukune (written as 建内宿禰 or 武内宿禰), however, according to the "Nihonshoki," the father of his grandson TAKENOUCHI no Sukune was Yanushioshiotakeogokoro no mikoto, who, therefore, would be the son of Hikofutsuoshinomakoto no mikoto.
He (Hikofutsuoshinomakoto no mikoto) was enshrined in Tamatare-jinja Shrine (Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture), Imari-jinja Shrine (Imari City, Saga Prefecture), Umeda-jinja Shrine (Miwa-cho, Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture), Ominato-jinja Shrine (Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture), and Nitta-jinja Shrine (Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture), sessha (auxiliary shrine) Takeuchi-sha Shrine (Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture).
